Experts in Clinical Toxicology
Clinical toxicology services encompasses the use of LS-MS/MS, Chemistry and Immunology analyzer technology with proprietary testing methods to detect metabolic breakdown products within the individual’s system.
The technology allows the use of a urine sample to identify chemicals, drugs, toxins and substances of abuse. It offers clinicians the option to use a combination of quantitative and qualitative testing methods best suited for their client population or the individual.
Quantitative Testing
Quantitative testing conducted with the use of an LC-MS/MS spectrometer machine allows the clinician to trend using actual concentrations over a course of time. This is to ensure that either a consistent level of medication is within the individual’s system as required, or if testing a substance of abuse that the concentrations are decreasing over a period of time. Each metabolite has a varying degree to which it is broken down or excreted from the human body. This technology allows the individual levels to be followed for progress.
Qualitative Testing
Qualitative testing is conducted using chemistry analyzers and Point of Care testing. Testing conducted within reference labs like Trilab Health are done using chemistry analyzers in either 1, 2, 3, or 5-point calibration, giving the lab semi-quantitative results that are generally reported only as Positive and Negative Values.
MAPs/TAPs
Trilab Health also offers clinicians the option to use Medication Adherence Panels (MAPs) and Treatment Adherence Panels (TAPs) as more comprehensive and customized tools to provide optimized care to their clients.
