What type of test is performed?

  • Trilab uses two types of COVID-19 testing to check for active infection. 
    • A Rapid Antigen or Molecular PCR result test, which returns results the same day.  
      • This is done by the ABBOTT ID NOW and the Sophia Quidel systems, both readily available at our facility
    • Trilab also utilizes polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing, which will be implemented in house with a 24-48-hour turnaround time
    • Antibody tests by blood will also be offered to see if someone has been previously infected in the past

When is the best time to get tested?

  • Generally, after 3-4 days of exposure
  • Active symptoms (fevers, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, fatigue, malaise, and generalized body aches)
  • Good clinical history reflective of possible COVID
  • Health Care Professional, first responders and others that have high exposure to Covid and suspecting Covid infection
  • Before or After Travel
  • Repeat Testing for confirmation improved accuracy
  • We will not test anyone with pending results from another facility

How is testing done?

  • Please arrive at the time of your appointment time for any verification process
  • Please let us know you have arrived for testing by calling us and remaining in your vehicle
  • While you remain in the vehicle, we will collect a sample of nasal secretions. This is done by inserting the swab into both nostrils approximately 1 inch into the nasal passage (midway) and further for more than 10 seconds. The swab is rotated several times, removed gently and this process is repeated on the other side.
  • We value your time, so your appointment will only take about 10 minutes.

How soon will I receive my results?

  • Results for rapid testing are generally returned on the same day of specimen collection sometimes as soon as 30 minutes
    • We will call you with the results and send you results via email securely
    • You may also call us to discuss how you would like to receive your results via any other means

What are the fees for this test?

  • $149.00 Self- Pay pricing for the Covid Rapid Antigen Test   
  • Please bring a credit card. We do not accept cash or checks

Do you Accept Insurance?

  •  Presently we are offering this direct-to-consumer service and discounted pricing for quick and convenient resulting
    • We are not accepting insurance as some insurance plans have different benefits in place
    • Unlike other testing centers you do not need any special orders or are required to see a provider which may result in excess fees
    • We do accept Flexspend or HSA cards

Can I bring someone with me, and can they get a test too?

Only patients who have qualified and scheduled for a visit online can be tested. If they are also registered properly, though, then they may get tested too (Please let us know so we can be prepared)

How old does a patient have to be to get a COVID-19 test?

A parent or legal guardian must accompany and complete this registration for all minor patients under the age of 18

I am not driving, can I walk-in?

  • If you do not have a vehicle or cannot park your car, call ahead and we will accommodate your needs.
  • Please remember, when you arrive for testing, you must wear a face covering for everyone’s safety and only remove it when instructed to do so by the authorized representative. 
  • You will still be tested outside.   Do not enter the facility 

I am not driving, can I walk-in?

Yes, all tests must be scheduled. Every individual who wants a test must make an appointment online. Click here to make an appointment.

Do I need a referral from a doctor or provider?

Referrals are not required.

Can I schedule in advance?

Yes. Appointments can be made in advance (depending on availability).

What do I need to bring with me?

  • After you make your appointment, you will be prompted to fill out a form to gather basic information we need.   Lab staff will call to verify your information prior to their test. 
  • Proof of identity is required to verify registration
  • Be sure to have your mobile phone in case we need to reach you
